Jazz 4 Justice

Jazz4Justice is an evening of fabulous, fun music! The last few years this has been held at our beautiful local Hylton Center for the performing arts.

The Jazz4Justice event provides the Prince William Bar Foundation with significant funding. That funding goes toward many very deserving local causes. One of our favorite causes is the Beat The Odds program where children who truly have risen above their circumstances are awarded college scholarships and sometimes even laptop computers. It is a very special joy to see one of 'our' teens that we have represented as a Guardian ad litem win one of these awards.

Today's tough economic conditions make it difficult for the Foundation to meet the needs of the community without help from generous people like you, as well as local businesses and organizations that desire to give back to this community.  There are several sponsorship options including: “Saxophone Sponsor” ~ $2500; “Piano Sponsor” ~ $1000; “Trumpet Sponsor” ~ $500; and “Bass Sponsor” ~ $250.  Old Town Advocates is a proud sponsor of this program.

Jazz4Justice supports not only the Prince William County Bar Foundation, but also the music scholarship fund at George Mason University. This event showcases talented music majors from GMU.

The Prince William County Bar Foundation is a 501(c)3 non-profit organization.  Since 2000, the Foundation has provided an array of educational and charitable services to benefit the Prince William, Manassas, and Manassas Park community, including:

  • Beat the Odds: a program that gives scholarships to and recognizes youth who have overcome the odds.

  • Courthouse tours with education about the judicial system for junior high students in Prince William County.

  • So You’re 18: local attorneys speak to high school seniors about the legal effects of turning 18.

  • Character Counts! Essay Contest for grade school students, where local attorneys review and “grade” essays written by students.

  • National Young Readers Day

Georgetown South Christmas Angels

Christmas is the season for Joy and in December 2018, Old Town Advocates, PC participated for the first time to a local community in Manassas, Virginia to be a Christmas Angel.

We had the pleasure bringing a joyful, toy-full Christmas this season to a family residing in the community of Georgetown South and look-forward to continuing this tradition for years to come.
